Some people, for whatever reason, simply cannot catch the beat of a song. I refer to them as the off-beatniks. It’s like these people are cats and rhythm is a dangling piece of string. They jump, scratch and claw the air, trying their hardest to get the string, but they just can’t do it. And the thing is, they expend tons of energy flailing and gyrating for naught. You don’t need energy to be a decent dancer, you just need to be able to count. Unless you’re listening to 300 beat-per-minute techno music, the beat is usually on two and four. Work with me here: one, *clap*, three, *clap*. Repeat until end of song. Simple.

Isolation, solitude, being alone-these words derive a connotation of growth and progress. They emphasize a deeper understanding not only of one’s surroundings, but also of the most significant and empowering quality-finding oneself within the present moment.

My life have taught me one vital thing and that is: I came into this world alone. I shall leave it alone. And, if I have to live in it alone, so be it! I contend to live it in peace with myself.

Drive Slow: “You’re one in a million, You’ve got to burn to shine, But you were born under a bad sign, With a blue moon in your eyes.” Slick, stylish and ineffably cool, these were perhaps the defining words I use to create this short clip. Also mention goes to the uncreditied star of the film; Toronto.

Reality has this violent way of shaking you to get you to pay attention even when you don’t want to. It forces you back on track, not caring if it crushes a dream or two in the process.
